Important issues about Syria are discussed by AANES and SDC during round of meetings in Europe

A delegation from the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria and the Syrian Democratic Council arrived in the British capital, London, on a visit aimed at mobilizing international support and discussing the main issues related to the future and stability of Syria.

Include the delegation; The co-chair of the Foreign Relations Department of the Democratic Autonomous-Administration, Elham Ahmed, and the co-chair of the Public Relations Office of the Syrian Democratic Council, Hassan Muhammad Ali.

According to the participants in the delegation, the meetings will focus on discussing vital files related to the current situation and the future of Syria with the British side, such as the political and security situation in Syria, and discussing the latest developments in NE Syria, which provide a unique model of stability in a region torn by conflicts over the course of 14 years, and discussing attacks on the region recently by Turkey and its mercenaries

As well as communicating and explaining the Autonomous Administration’s vision for resolving the Syrian crisis, which is based on promoting a political solution as an alternative to the military approach to ensure stability and peace, and discussing the role of the upcoming Syrian constitution in protecting the country’s unity and guaranteeing the rights of all its components, with a focus on ensuring the rights of the Kurdish people, and emphasizing the importance of regional relations. International and the role of the Autonomous Administration as a strategic partner in achieving peace and stability.

Also, to expand the circle of international support for its vision, which is based on building a democratic, pluralistic Syria that respects ethnic and religious diversity, protects the rights of all its components, and highlights the importance of protecting the region of NE Syria as the only region of stability in the country, and ensuring that it is not exposed to any external threats, especially from Turkey.

In its first meeting, the delegation held a dialogue symposium in the British Parliament, attended by members of the Kurdish community, Representative Stephen, and several parliamentarians. It discussed developments in the Syrian crisis, the role of the Autonomous Administration as a key partner in international efforts to achieve peace, and the future of the Kurds in Syria.

The delegation then participated in a high-level discussion session, attended by European ambassadors and diplomats, and employees of the foreign ministries of European countries, Britain, America, and Arab countries, in addition to prominent academics and politicians. Prominent human rights activist and politician Othman Baydemer also participated.

The session discussed the Autonomous Administration’s vision for building a future Syria and its role in promoting democracy and human rights, while answering the guests’ questions that showed great interest in the Autonomous Administration’s vision for a solution.

The delegation then met with Lord Maurice Glassman, one of the most prominent members of the British House of Lords known for his support of dialogue and cooperation on Middle East issues. He also met with Andrew Mitchell, the former Secretary of State for International Development, who is considered one of the influential figures in international politics and the British Parliament.

The delegation will participate in the ceremony commemorating the historic Kobani resistance, which will be held in London today (January 14), in the presence of members of the government, Parliament, the House of Commons, Arab and foreign diplomats, and the Kurdish community in Britain. 

This visit confirms the Autonomous Administration’s commitment to its leadership role in the search for peaceful and sustainable political solutions to the Syrian crisis, and seeks to enhance understanding between international and regional parties and open new horizons for constructive dialogue, and presents the Autonomous Administration’s experience as a sustainable democratic model that may contribute to achieve peace and stability in Syria, according to what was reported by members of the delegation.

It also aims to build strategic partnerships with influential countries to ensure the protection of the gains of the Syrian people, and to enhance the stability of NE Syria as a basic pillar for achieving peace in the country. It represents a pivotal step in strengthening the position of the Autonomous Administration on the international scene, and consolidating partnerships that support the aspirations of the Syrian people for freedom, dignity, and justice.

The visit is supposed to last for 4 days.
