HPG: Turkish occupation attacks continue despite our ceasefire declaration

Today, the HPG Media Center issued a statement to the public regarding the ongoing attacks on their areas, despite their declaration of a ceasefire. The statement reads as follows:

“Since the announcement of the ceasefire by our party, the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK), and the instructions of the Central Command of the People's Defense Center on March 1, 2025, our forces have adhered to the ceasefire decision. However, despite our forces being in a ceasefire position, the Turkish occupation army continues its air and ground attacks.

Below are the details of the Turkish occupation army's attacks and the interventions by our guerrilla forces in the framework of legitimate defense:

In the Martyr Delil area, West Zap:

On February 26, at 10:40 a.m., our forces targeted Turkish occupation forces moving within the resistance area on Judi Hill using heavy weapons.

On February 27, at 07:25 a.m., Free Women's Units fighters intervened against Turkish occupation forces' movements in the resistance area on Judi Hill using heavy weapons.

On March 1, between 5:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m., our forces engaged Turkish occupation forces attempting to advance toward war tunnels and deploy warfare technology, resulting in the death of one Turkish soldier.

In the Garê area:

On February 26, at 11:30 a.m., Turkish warplanes launched airstrikes on the Dinart area, resulting in the martyrdom of our comrade Delil. Detailed information about our martyred comrade will be shared with our patriotic people and the public at a later time.

Turkish occupation army's use of prohibited weapons:

On March 1, war tunnels in the resistance area on Judi Hill in the Martyr Delil area, West Zap, were bombed four times with prohibited explosives.

On March 1 and 3, war tunnels in the resistance area on Amadiya Hill in the Martyr Delil area, West Zap, were bombed three times with explosive-laden drones.

Turkish occupation army attacks:

Between March 1 and 3, Turkish warplanes bombed the areas of Spindar, Maskan Hill, Deresh, and the Kafya Plain in the Garê region six times.

Between March 1 and 3, the Turkish occupation army bombed resistance areas in Beri Zine, Lolan, and Kendekola in the Khakurk region 28 times; the areas of Kafya Plain, Deresh, Spindar,Mijê, Karkash, Zankil Hill, Kani Sark, and Zivk in the Garê region 138 times; the areas of Serê Metina, Shelaz, and Beshile in the Metina region 173 times; and the resistance areas on Judi Hill and Amadiya Hill in the Martyr Delil area, West Zap, 733 times.

In total, there were 1,072 attacks using heavy weapons and artillery shells.”
