HPG: Turkish occupation army launched attacks with chemical gases, phosphorus bombs

The Press Center of the People's Defense Forces (HPG) issued a statement today regarding the attacks by the Turkish occupation army on the Mediya Defense Zones in southern Kurdistan. The statement read:

"The Turkish occupation army's attacks with internationally prohibited bombs:

On April 7, the Turkish occupation army bombed our war tunnels in the resistance square on Bahar Hill in the Martyr Dalil area, west of Zap, once with internationally prohibited bombs. It also bombed our war tunnels in the resistance square on Amediya Hill in the Martyr Dalil area, west of Zap, twice with armed drones.

On April 8, the Turkish occupation army bombed our war tunnels in the resistance square on Amediya Hill in the Martyr Dalil area, west of Zap, once with chemical gases and twice with prohibited phosphorus bombs.

On April 5, 6, and 7, the Turkish occupation army bombed the resistance squares of Sinin and Berri Bezin in the Xakurk region twice, the resistance squares of Zivik, Hafte Bagh, Girê Kon, Miran, and Girê Sisir in the Garê region six times, the resistance square of Bişili in the Metina region, and the resistance square on Bahar Hill in the Martyr Dalil area west of Zap four times. In total, the Turkish occupation army bombed these areas 13 times with warplanes.

On April 7, the Turkish occupation army bombed the resistance square on Bahar Hill in the Martyr Dalil area west of Zap 12 times with attack helicopters.

Turkish occupation army attacks with heavy weapons, artillery, and shells:

Between April 5 and 9, the Turkish occupation army shelled the resistance areas in Biri Bezun, Kandkula, and Lolan in the Xakurk region 88 times with heavy weapons, artillery, and shells; the resistance areas in Argun, Kani Sarık, Zifak, Girê Kon, Dereş, Mej, Karkash, Yıkmal, and Girê Zengl in the Karê region 182 times; the resistance areas in Serê Metnê, Beşili, and Şilâz in the Metina region 116 times; and the resistance areas on Bahar Hill and Amedê Hill in the Şahid Dilîl area, west of Zap, 432 times. In total, the Turkish occupation army shelled these areas with heavy weapons, artillery, and shells 818 times.

Our forces intervened to repel these attacks.

On April 7, at 10:40 PM, guerrilla fighters with semi-automatic weapons repelled an attack by Turkish occupation soldiers who had advanced towards the resistance tunnels in the Şilâz resistance area in the Metina region.
