The pipeline transporting petroleum products from Banias to Homs was damaged by a hole in the Hadida area, resulting in the leakage of quantities of gasoline, coinciding with news of the interruption of the Homs-Tartous highway due to the incident.

The director of the media office at the Syrian Petroleum Company, Uday Al-Satouf, told the Syrian News Agency that the concerned teams isolated and secured the area surrounding the hole site immediately after the incident, while mobilizing firefighting and drilling teams and technical committees to deal with the leak.

He added that the specialized teams closed the valves located before and after the hole site, while the technical workshop began repairing the damage to the pipeline, in parallel with continuing to monitor the site and taking the necessary safety measures.

Syrian media had reported that the Homs-Tartous highway was cut off following a large leak of gasoline from a pipeline passing through the Hadida area.
