Residents of Çil Axa stressed that securing the physical freedom of Kurdish leader Abdullah Ocalan is a fundamental demand and a necessary step toward opening the way for any political process aimed at resolving the Kurdish issue and establishing peace in the region. (Photos and video attached).

A researcher said the failure to launch a genuine transitional justice process in Syria stems from the absence of the political will needed to build an independent and comprehensive process, the weakness of judicial independence, and the existence of multiple centers of power and armed groups. The researcher noted that the core problem is that justice continues to be managed according to political and security calculations rather than as a national process in which Syrians define its goals and guarantees. A women's rights activist said Syrian women face clear marginalization at the political, social, economic, and legal levels during the current period.
