Hasakah commemorates 905 martyrs of eight months

The Council of Martyrs' Families in Hasakah organized a ceremony today to commemorate 905 martyrs who were killed during the months of November, December, January, February, March, April, June, and July in different years and locations. The event was held at the Martyr Dijwar Shrine in the village of Al-Dawoudiyah in the Hasakah countryside.

The ceremony began with a minute of silence in honor of the martyrs, followed by a speech by Najah Hawas on behalf of the Women's Committee of the Council of Martyrs' Families. She said the martyrs had written pages of resilience and sacrifice with their blood in the pursuit of dignity and freedom, stressing that commemorating them represents a renewed commitment to preserving the values for which they gave their lives and to continuing efforts toward a future of peace and democracy.

She added that the martyrs' sacrifices would remain a beacon guiding future generations toward the values of loyalty and courage. She also paid tribute to the families of the martyrs, saying their sons gave their lives in defense of their homeland and never retreated in the face of challenges.

Speaking on behalf of the military forces, Avendar Deniz welcomed the attendees and said the martyrs' sacrifices had helped strengthen Kurdish identity and raise international awareness of the Kurdish people's cause. She noted that they gave their lives for freedom and dignity and called on people to follow their path and uphold the values for which they fought.

The ceremony concluded with the reading of the names of the 905 martyrs, in the presence of their families and participants, who chanted, "Martyrs are immortal," and renewed their commitment to honoring their memory and preserving their legacy.
