Police and firefighters were deployed in large numbers along Lierschenaur Straße, a main road in Munich, where the area was cordoned off and a wide security perimeter was established.

The police clarified on Wednesday morning that there is no threat to citizens and residents of Munich following the explosions and gunfire, which resulted in the closure of a major city road.

A police spokesperson stated that the situation is under control and does not pose a threat to residents, noting that security and firefighting operations are still ongoing.

According to the German newspaper Bild, a body and a person injured by gunfire were found at the scene, while the full circumstances of the incident remain unclear.
