French woman tried for Yazidi Genocide

The Paris Court of Appeal has ruled that Sonia Mejri, a 36-year-old French woman who returned from Syria, will be tried for genocide before the Supreme Criminal Court for enslaving, imprisoning, and sexually and religiously abusing a Yazidi girl in the spring of 2015.

Sonia Mejri, the ex-wife of one of ISIS's leaders, Abdelnasser Ben Youssef, is the first French woman to return from Syria and be tried in France for genocide against the Yazidi community.

With this decision, Sonia Mejri will be tried before the Supreme Criminal Court for genocide and terrorism, in addition to the terrorist crimes and crimes against humanity that have already been documented.

Before leaving France in 2014 to join the terrorist organization ISIS, Sonia Mejri ran businesses in France. There, she married Abdelnasser Ben Youssef, a French-Algerian considered a key member of an ISIS operations cell. Abdelnasser Ben Youssef is on trial for genocide, crimes against humanity, and terrorism for ordering the 2015 attack on a church in Villejuif, Paris. Abdelnasser Ben Youssef is believed to have been killed in 2016.

The Yazidi woman, now 26, was kidnapped by Abdelnasser and ISIS mercenaries, humiliated, and raped, and then sold by Ben Youssef to an ISIS executioner and leader.
