The heavy rains that have been falling in the region for several days have led to rising water levels on public roads and water seeping into residents' homes, amid fears of the situation worsening.

ANHA correspondent in Derik reported that the heavy rainfall the city has been experiencing since this afternoon caused flash floods on the Corniche Road, leading to the collapse of parts of the road and sidewalks, leaving clear material damage.

She indicated that the Burzi Dam in the city is facing an increasing risk due to the rising water level, with the possibility of water overflowing the dam, which is causing concern among residents and necessitating urgent measures from the relevant authorities.

She confirmed that the floods were caused by continuous heavy rainfall, noting that relevant authorities are working to clear waterways and provide urgent assistance to those affected.

The region is on high alert, with residents urged to exercise caution and stay away from flood channels until the crisis is over.
