QAMISHLO

Under the slogan "Kurdish Women's Leadership Guarantees Kurdish National Unity," the first Kurdish Women's Conference in Rojava kicked off at the Azadi Park Hall in Qamishlo, with the attendance of about 300 delegates from political parties, intellectuals, writers, artists, journalists, women's organizations and movements, representatives of the Democratic Autonomous Administration institutions, and figures from Aleppo and Damascus.

The conference began with an opening speech by the Co-Chair of the Democratic Union Party (PYD) and a member of the conference's preparatory committee, Berivan Youssef. In her speech, Berivan Youssef welcomed the attendees and said, "This conference will lay the foundation for a new historical era and pave the way for the unity of the Kurdish people under the leadership of Kurdish women. Just as women have led and played a pioneering role in all fields, they will also lead the building of a democratic Syria."

After observing a minute of silence in honor of the martyrs, the conference program was announced.

According to the program, after reviewing the political situation in Kurdistan and Syria, a session titled "Assessing the Political Situation" will be held to discuss this topic. This will be followed by the reading and discussion of the draft document "Kurdish Women's Conference in Rojava." The conference will conclude with a final statement.
