Field commander: Our forces inflicted heavy losses on attackers in Deir ez-Zor
A field commander in the Democratic Syria Forces indicated that their forces were able to inflict heavy losses in equipment and lives on the ranks of the attackers of the Damascus government forces and the "National Defense" mercenaries.
The field commander of the Al-Busaira Brigade in the Deir ez-Zor Military Council, nicknamed Abu Mustafa, spoke to ANHA agency after the failed attack by Damascus government forces and their mercenaries on the cities and towns of eastern Deir ez-Zor last Tuesday and Wednesday night.
The attack with light, medium and heavy weapons killed 2 civilians and wounded 7 others, according to recent official information.
In light of his presence in the town of Dhiban and his commandership and monitoring of the course of clashes, commander Abu Mustafa said: "What the Damascus government forces and their mercenaries claim to be in control of the town of Dhiban, is not true, and our forces are present in the town, we do not deny that our points were subjected to a major attack in the town, amid intense artillery shelling, that shelling led to the death and injury of civilians in the town."
He added: "On the other hand, our forces were able to respond to the source of the attack and inflict direct injuries on the Damascus government forces and its mercenaries, inflicting heavy losses in lives and equipment."
On the aim of the attack, commander Abu Mustafa said: "The goal of these terrorist groups is to destabilize the security and stability of the areas of the Autonomous Administration, strike the social fabric and create strife among the tribesmen."
At the end of his speech, commander of the Al-Busaira Brigade, commander Abu Mustafa, said that they in the Deir ez-Zor Military Council forces are always ready to confront any attack and any dangers surrounding the people, stressing that their forces will be the barrier against enemy's attacks.
