The Violations Documentation Center published a detailed report on the increasing crimes of the Turkish occupation state and its mercenaries in occupied Afrin, which stated:

"Attacks on Minors

On Monday, August 5, the two Kurdish minors; Renas Omar (16 years old) and Khalil Omar (17 years old) were subjected to a brutal attack while passing through a military police checkpoint between the villages of "Kawanda" and "Shenqile" in the city of Rajo in the countryside of Afrin, and were severely beaten by the checkpoint mercenaries, as part of the ongoing policy of violence against Kurdish citizens of all ages, including children and the elderly.

Arrests and kidnappings

On August 3, the mercenaries of the National Army "Political Security" in the city of Afrin kidnapped the mayor of the village of Adama, Adnan Mohammad Ali Haji (63 years old) and his son Ali Adnan Haji (20 years old), for demanding that he stop setting fires in the mountains of the villages of Midaniyat affiliated with Rajo district. This demand comes as the mercenaries deliberately set fires in the forests to trade in firewood and make charcoal.

Shooting and torture

The young man Mohammad Khalaf Issa was deliberately shot by Turkish gendarmerie elements while trying to enter Turkish territory, searching for a safe haven. He was shot in the mouth, which led to his transfer to the hospital to receive treatment while he is in a deplorable condition.

Other kidnappings

The mercenaries of the National Army (Sultan Murad) kidnapped the citizens Hassan Ali Ali (47 years old) and Mohammad Ali Ali (33 years old) in the city of Jandaris, in addition to two people from the city of Hama.

In the evening of August 3, the military police in the city of Afrin kidnapped citizen Khalil Jamo bin Abdo (41 years old) from the village of “Brad” in the town of Sherawa, near the Fouad oil press on the road to Jandaris.

Release in exchange for ransom

On August 6, the military police in the city of Afrin released citizen Ahmed Mohammed Mohammed (41 years old) from the village of “Juqia/Juwaiq”, after paying a ransom of 5 thousand US dollars. Ahmed had been kidnapped about 15 days ago from his home after being deported from Turkey.

The military police released citizen Jowan Hamid (42 years old) from the village of “Awka” in the town of Bulbul, after collecting a ransom of 4 thousand US dollars. Jowan had been kidnapped on July 18 in the city of Afrin.

Seizure of Property

The mercenary Abdul Razzaq Hamdo from the joint force (Sultan Suleiman Shah Division - Al-Amshat, Al-Hamzat Division) whose origin from the city of Khan Sheikhoun in the Idlib countryside seized the house of citizen Mervan Hanan from the people of the village of Jabaliya in the Ashrafieh neighborhood in the city of Afrin.

A mercenary from the “Ahrar Al-Sharqiya” mercenaries also sold a house on Al-Malah Street in the city of Afrin, which belongs to the citizen Abdul Rahman Mohammad from the people of the village of Khalnir, to another mercenary from the same group whose origin from Hama, for 1,500 US dollars.

These incidents indicate an escalation of violations against Kurdish citizens in Afrin, where residents suffer from physical assaults, kidnappings, financial extortion, and seizure of property. These violations require international attention and immediate action to protect human rights in the region.
