The Feminist Initiative for the Leader Abdullah Ocalan's Freedom issued a statement to the public opinion in front of the Congra Star Center in Sheikh Maksoud neighborhood in Aleppo, in the presence of the initiative members and representatives of political parties and civil institutions.

The statement was read by the member of the initiative, Nesrin Mohammed, and it included, "We, the women of Aleppo, and within the framework of "We Want to Meet the Leader Abdullah Ocalan Campaign," participated in writing letters expressing our belief in the peace call that the leader launched on February 27, 2025, in which he called for the end of the armed conflict, and the building of a democratic society based on justice and peaceful political participation."

The statement stressed that this call was not a symbolic step; however, a responsible political initiative that seeks to end decades of conflict and destruction, and open the way for dialogue based on the reality of the Middle East peoples' co-existence.

The initiative emphasized that the leader Abdullah Ocalan is still adhering to this call through his approach and strategy based on a democratic solution, while the Turkish government continues to refuse to deal seriously with this initiative, adopting policies of procrastination and political and legal isolation imposed on him, in a flagrant violation of international human rights standards.

The initiative confirmed that the Turkish government's ignorance of this initiative poses a direct threat to the path of peace, and added, "We decline the peace file to be turned into a negotiating paper, or to the leader who was the initiator to be investigated, while paving the way for those who seek to dedicate the division."

The women announced via the statement that if the Turkish policy continues in this way, they will escalate their international campaign to demand the release of the leader and political detainees, and will head towards the human rights institutions and European parliaments to hold Ankara accountable, in addition to strengthening unified women's efforts to reject exclusion and demand fully recognition of the leader's initiative.

The statement concluded by addressing the international community, the European Union, and the United Nations, calling on them to assume their responsibilities in supporting the path of peace and put pressure on Turkey to end the policy of procrastination and exclusion, stressing that the continued arrest of the leader Abdullah Ocalan is not only a violation of his individual rights; otherwise, it is considered a deliberate obstruction of any fair political solution in the region.
