During her speech at the 5th Congress of the Democratic Society Movement (TEVDEM), held in Hasaka, member of the PYD Presidency Yusuf touched on political and military developments in the Middle East, focusing on Syria and more on the NE Syria Region, and recent regional positions on Syria, including Turkey.

At the outset, she pointed out that the world is witnessing a third world war, but not in the traditional form as witnessed by the first and second, and for its reasons related to the struggle for hegemony in its various forms, represented at the current stage by the conflict over trade routes.

She noted that the Middle East is the center of this conflict, given that the conflicting roads pass through it, and what the peoples, especially the region of NE Syria, must do, to protect their societies from the repercussions of this conflict.

She said: "As the peoples of the NE Syria region, we must adopt a correct policy, and look at all developments from a more comprehensive perspective to protect the gains achieved, especially the project of Autonomous-Administration."

Citing the attack of the Damascus government forces and the so-called "National Defense" on the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor, she added, "The forces surrounding us do not want our project to succeed, as the situation in Deir ez-Zor today is the result of continuous efforts to undermine our project, once again the Damascus government is trying to restore the Syria to pre-2011, as it did in Qamishlo in 2004."

She stated that what Deir ez-Zor Canton witnessed during the past few days is nothing but a continuation of what the same parties failed to do in 2023, by fabricating strife and hitting the social fabric of the NE Syria Region.

She considered that these attacks will not be the last on the region, "Our revolution did not reach its goal, and the threats are great and exist, as normalization between Turkey and Syria aims to expand the conflict, deepen the Syrian crisis, and undermine the gains of the peoples of the NE Syria, with the participation of other regional and international parties, without naming them.

Yusuf stressed the firm position of the political parties in the NE Syria Region that the Syrian-Syrian dialogue is the only way to resolve the Syrian crisis, and at the same time, that the peoples of the NE Syria through their military forces will not hesitate to deter any attacks, and return to before 2011.

Addressing a message to the Damascus government and its forces, she said: "The military solution must be abandoned, as it will not serve the Syrian people and the unity of its territory," noting that this type of practice widens the gap between the democratic Autonomous-Administration that wants dialogue, and the Damascus government.

She stressed that the Damascus government's choice of the military option and the start of its forces and the so-called "National Defense" affiliated with it, to attack the areas of the Democratic Autonomous Administration, is a step in the interest of the Turkish occupation state, and serves the occupation and division, reminding the Damascus government of the Turkey's policy towards Syria people and land throughout the years of crisis.

She reiterated the openness of the peoples of the NE Syria Region, through the Democratic Autonomous Administration, to dialogue with all parties to reach a solution to the Syrian crisis, and stressed that the solution passes through the Syrians and on the land of the Syrians, not in Astana, Geneva and others.
