Family of martyrs Haifa and Dilawar al-Arabo confirms: Our struggle will continue, no matter sacrifices it costs us

On the 27th of last January, the Turkish occupation state targeted both the member of the Kongra Star Coordination Committee, Haifa Al-Arabo (Salha Vian), and the member of the Democratic Union Party, Dilawar Al-Arabo (Hawker Darbasiyah), in the Sulaymaniyah Governorate in Southern Kurdistan, which led to their martyrdom.

The Al-Arabo family confirmed that the two martyrs had been involved in the political and women’s struggle within the ranks of the Kongra Star and the Democratic Union Party for many years, and that the Turkish occupation state targeting the societal pioneers and freedom fighters, describing this attack as part of the occupying state’s policy to impose its control over the region and suppress liberation demands.

In this context, Noman Al-Arabo, the cousin of the two martyrs, said: “The Turkish occupation state deliberately targets civilians, politicians, and media professionals using dirty methods. The two martyrs were political activists for decades, and they were on their way to Southern Kurdistan when the Turkish occupation state targeted them.”

He stressed that his family will remain committed to the struggle on the path of the martyrs and leader Abdullah Ocalan, adding: “Presenting the martyrs confirms that the will of the people is invincible.”

For her part, the sister of the martyr Dilawar, Zuzan Al-Arabo, condemned the targeting of the Turkish occupation state against Kurdish intellectuals and politicians, saying: “The martyrs worked for years in organizing youth and women in NE Syria, and they were fighting to build a free homeland that prevails in justice and peace.”

She added: "The Turkish occupation targets free thought and youth organization, and we will proceed in the march of our martyrs."

As for Farhad Al-Arabo, the brother of the martyr Dilawar, he described the Turkish occupation’s attacks on the Kurdish people as part of a policy of “bloodshed,” denouncing the silence of the international community and human rights organizations regarding these attacks. He stressed that "the international community and human rights organizations must move quickly to expose the violations of the Turkish occupation state and put an end to these attacks."

In conclusion, the family stressed the continuation of the struggle in the path of the martyrs until freedom and justice are achieved, stressing that many young men and women will follow the path of the martyrs Dilawar and Haifa Al-Arabo in the resistance march.

The Arabo family is one of the patriotic families that participated in the liberation struggle of the Kurdish people. Dozens of its members participated in the ranks of the July 19 Revolution, and it provided 6 martyrs on the path of freedom.
