Families of martyrs in Aleppo declare support for guerrilla, urge Turkey to act for peace

Suad Hassan — mother of four fighters and a martyr, including the militant Hevin Adnan Abdo (nom de guerre: Diran Botan), who joined in 2009, and the fighter Media Adnan Abdo (nom de guerre: Rohev Afrin), who joined in 2017, as well as her sons Saeed and Adnan Abdo, and her martyred daughter Badi’a Adnan Abdo (also known as Rohev Afrin), who fell in 2019 while repelling Turkish attacks — said: “We are deeply connected to our forces with all our strength and faith. We trust their decisions, which are suited to this stage and lead toward success and peace. They represent the practical steps responding to the call of leader Abdullah Ocalan.”

She emphasized that,“The historic steps of the Kurdistan Liberation Movement — such as disarmament and the withdrawal of forces from inside Turkish borders — are not concessions but decisive choices that safeguard both the cause and the historical relationship.”

She added: “We, the mothers of the guerrilla, will not give up our rights nor withdraw our support for our forces. We endure thanks to them.”

For her part, Asia Abdo — mother of the martyr Samir Sheikh Issa (nom de guerre: Jan Khurt) — said, “Our unity around our forces, who have struggled for decades in the mountain peaks for peace and to revive our identity, confirms our commitment to the teachings of Leader Abdullah Ocalan and the continuity of the peace initiative since its founding.”

She called on the Turkish state to take real steps, stressing: “We support the decisions of our forces and expect the Turkish government to turn its statements into tangible actions on the ground to prove the seriousness of the peace process.”

Mohammed Ali, father of the militants Bahar Ali and Suzdar Ali, and the martyr Orhan Ali (nom de guerre: Rojhat), stated that

 “Leader Abdullah Ocalan’s call for peace and a democratic society — and the Kurdistan Freedom Movement’s response through its 12th conference, the weapon-burning ceremony, and troop withdrawal — aim to stop the bloodshed and revive historical ties and identity.”

He concluded: “We remain committed to continuing the struggle to achieve these goals.”
