Factions of Syrian transitional government attack 4 SDF positions 

The SDF Media Center issued a statement to the public today, revealing that four of their positions had come under attack by factions affiliated with the Syrian translation government.

The statement read: “At exactly 3:00 a.m. this Monday, factions affiliated with the Syrian transitional government launched an attack on four of our positions in the village of al-Imam, located in the Deir Hafer area. Our forces responded appropriately in defense of their positions and fighters, leading to clashes that lasted for 20 consecutive minutes.

We affirm that this repeated aggression constitutes a deliberate escalation and poses a threat to stability in the region. We hold the Damascus government fully responsible for this behavior and emphasize that our forces are now more ready than ever to exercise their legitimate right to respond with full force and determination.”

This marks the second time that factions affiliated with the Syrian transitional government have launched attacks against the SDF. On August 2, “unruly factions” operating within the ranks of the Syrian transitional government fired more than ten shells at the frontlines in the Deir Hafer area.
