Extensive areas burned in NE, Syria owing Turkish occupation bombing

The Turkish occupation state and its mercenaries have renewed targeting of agricultural crops in the North and East Syria, with the crops maturing and entering the harvest stage this year, and this situation has become repeated every year at this time, and the people of the region see it as a continuation of the policy of the Turkish occupation state to displace them and occupy their areas, in addition to its military attacks on the region and its infrastructure.

During this year's harvest season, which has entered its final stages in the North and East Syria, the Turkish occupation state and its mercenaries targeted crops in 3 cantons in the region, "Manbij, Euphrates, and al-Jazira," and caused significant material losses to farmers' crops.

In statistics that ANHA's agency was able to monitor since the beginning of the crop maturity season at the beginning of last May, the cultivated areas in which fires broke out due to the bombing of the Turkish occupation state, and the setting fire to some other lands by its soldiers and mercenaries, reached more than two thousand hectares.

The burned area was distributed over the countryside of “Manbij Canton, Ain Issa City, Tal Tamr City, Zarghan City, Qamishlo City, and Amuda City.”

Ain Issa countryside: 219 hectares.

Rural area of Tal Tamr: 94 hectares.

Zarghan  countryside: 19 hectares.

Rural area of Qamishlo and Amuda cities: 150 hectares.

The fire destroyed more than 19,000 olive and pistachio trees, most of them in Manbij canton.

The formation of emergency committees by the Democratic Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria in every city and canton, and the deployment of emergency teams within villages and towns, in addition to the mobilization of communes, councils, and farmers themselves, and rapid intervention with every outbreak of fire, contributed to the fire not reaching agricultural crops in areas larger than Lands.

Among them, civil defense and emergency teams were able to extinguish 44 fires in agricultural crops caused by mercenaries near the areas they occupy of Girê Spi/Tal Abyad, in the villages of (al-Hisha, Saida, Khirbet Hadla, al-Tarwaziya, and al-Amir), according to the co-chair of the Municipal Committee of the Council Girê Spi city and Crisis Cell member, Muhammad Darwish.

The civil defense and emergency teams in Manbij Canron were also able to extinguish 300 fires in and near agricultural crops, as confirmed by Talal Hamidi, a member of the People’s Municipality Fire Brigade in Manbij Canton.
