The Democratic Autonomous Administration of the Euphrates Canton issued a statement today regarding the assaults on Sweida, which was read in front of the Council's headquarters, first in Kurdish by Council member Najah Mohiuddin, and then in Arabic by the Council’s legal advisor, Mustafa Sheikh Muslim.

The statement condemned the attacks targeting the people of Sweida, emphasizing that they aim “to spread sectarian discord in a malicious way.”

It firmly rejected the assaults and stressed the urgent need to put an end to them.

Sweida has witnessed a dangerous escalation in recent days, as forces of the transitional government in Syria launched attacks on both urban and rural areas of the governorate, amid Israeli airstrikes targeting the attacking forces.
