The Turkish occupation state continues its attacks on the regions of North and East Syria. On the night of March 16-17, it committed a massacre against a family living in a farm between the villages of Qamji and Barakh Batan, south of Kobani, resulting in the deaths of seven children, their father, and their mother. Additionally, two other family members were seriously injured. The neighborhoods of "Tal Ahmar, Rashin, and the Assyrian neighborhood" in the city of Tal Tamr in Jazira region were subjected to direct artillery fire, causing significant damage to citizens' properties and threatening the lives of thousands of them, amidst international silence

The Turkish occupation's attacks aim to sabotage the political agreement.

In this context, the co-chair of the Tel Tamr City Council, Ahmed Haidar, confirmed that the Turkish occupation's attacks have noticeably escalated following the signing of the agreement between the commander of the Syrian Democratic Forces, Mazloum Abdi, and the head of the Damascus authority, Ahmed al-Shara.

Haider pointed out that the Turkish occupation categorically rejects this agreement and seeks to undermine it through military escalation and creating a state of instability in the region, adding that Ankara's policy relies on exploiting chaos to prolong its occupation of northern Syria.

Haider explained that the principle of the democratic nation and the brotherhood of peoples, which the people of the region adopt, does not satisfy the Turkish occupation, affirming that Ankara seeks to dismantle the unity of the Syrian components and disrupt any democratic project aimed at building a decentralized, pluralistic Syria.

He added: "In Tel Tamr, we live in a state of cohesion among Arabs, Kurds, Syriacs, and Assyrians, according to a democratic model, which Turkey considers a threat to its interests. Therefore, it works to fuel chaos and divisions to ensure the continuation of its influence and occupation of some Syrian areas."

The international community is called upon to put an end to the violations of the Turkish occupation.

The co-chair of the Tel Tamr City Council, Ahmed Haidar, called on the international community and human rights organizations to break their silence and take a clear stance against the ongoing Turkish violations in North and East Syria.

He emphasized the necessity of holding Ankara accountable for its crimes against civilians and stopping the military escalation that threatens security and stability in the region, calling for support for the North and East Syria project, which advocates for a decentralized and pluralistic Syria that guarantees the rights of all components without discrimination.

Turkey... the main gateway for mercenary groups in Syria

Haider pointed out the Turkish occupation state's relations with mercenary groups, and confirmed that there is a convergence between the occupation and ISIS mercenaries, considering that Ankara has formed a main gateway for militants and mercenaries to enter Syrian territory, especially to the regions of North and East Syria.

He added: "The Turkish occupation continues to provide support to these mercenary groups and uses them as a tool to destabilize security in the region. We have seen how the areas that were previously under ISIS control are now in the hands of Turkey and its mercenaries, which reflects the extent of the connection between the two sides."

The Turkish occupation and the ISIS mercenaries are two sides of the same coin.

At the end of his speech, Haidar confirmed that the Turkish occupation's targeting of residential neighborhoods in Tel Tamr and other areas recalls the scenario of the attacks carried out by ISIS mercenaries against the same neighborhoods in previous years. He said, "The targeting of residential neighborhoods by Turkey is a repetition of what ISIS did before. This coordination between the Turkish occupation and the mercenary groups is no longer hidden from anyone, and both represent two sides of the same coin seeking to impose chaos and violence in the region."

Since December 8, the Turkish occupying state has been launching continuous attacks on the regions of North and East Syria, focusing particularly on the Tishrin Dam, the Qaraquzak Bridge, and the countryside of Kobani and Ras al-Ain.
