Escalating violence in Syria leaves 11 dead in 24 hours

Eleven people were killed in various parts of Syria over the past 24 hours, in a daily escalation that underscores the fragility of the security situation in areas controlled by the Damascus government.

In Aleppo, unidentified gunmen killed six civilians, most of them members of the Mido family, accused of collaborating with the former regime. They used silencers in the Sheikh Saeed area. Doctor Hussam al-Dharir was also killed by gunmen who stormed his clinic in the Saif al-Dawla neighborhood.

In Damascus, a young man was martyred after being subjected to physical and psychological torture in a Damascus government prison, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.

In Idlib, a woman from the town of Kafr Zita in the Hama countryside was killed by remnants of war bomb explosion near a garbage container in Al-Karamah camp.

In Palmyra, east of Homs, a woman was killed by a landmine explosion in a car carrying civilians from the village of Salba, in the Marbat al-Hisan area.

In Homs, unidentified gunmen shot and killed a person from a motorcycle at the intersection of the Al-Walid suburb, on Police Housing Street.

These incidents collectively reflect the continued state of security chaos and the spread of violence in areas under the control of the Damascus government, amidst the lack of real stability.
