Dozens of Turkish-backed "National Army" mercenaries flee

Mass escape incidents of mercenaries from the Turkish occupation forces, known as the "National Army," have been recorded in the past 24 hours from the occupied Syrian territories. This comes amid intensified Turkish military surveillance to prevent their return to their hometowns inside Syria.

More than 18 mercenaries from the Turkish occupation forces, originally from Idlib, Homs, and Eastern Ghouta, have fled.

According to local sources, the escapees took advantage of the rainy weather and fled from the occupied city of Serê Kaniyê and its countryside.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported that some of the escapees have reached their original hometowns inside Syria.

Meanwhile, Turkish-backed "Military Police" mercenaries arrested 16 fighters from the "Hamzat Division" and "Sultan Murad Division" as they attempted to reach the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria, fleeing from Serê Kaniyê. They were handed over to Turkish intelligence.

Since December 8 of last year, following the fall of Bashar al-Assad’s regime, the Turkish occupation army has been preventing the return of mercenaries from the areas it occupies in Syria to their hometowns and continues to push them to fight against the Syrian Democratic Forces in various regions.
