HASAKA

For the second straight day, displaced people from the occupied city of Serê Kaniyê flocked to the two tents set up in the Serê Kaniyê and Washokani camps in the city of Hasaka to sign a petition demanding the right to return safely to their occupied homes, away from the occupation.

The Serê Kaniyê Displaced People Committee is overseeing the signature collection campaign, which is being held under the slogan "Six Years of Forced Displacement, and Safe Return Is a Legitimate Right," coinciding with the sixth anniversary of the city's occupation by the Turkish occupation state and its mercenaries.

Pictures of the crimes committed by the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries during their attacks on the city on October 9, 2019, were hung in the tent, along with banners affirming the right to return safely.

It is worth noting that the signature collection campaign also includes displacement centers in the cities of Hasaka and Tel Tamr, as well as Newroz camp in the city of Derik.

After the signature collection campaign concludes, a sit-in will be held in front of the UNHCR building in Qamishlo, and the signatures will be submitted to the UN.
