Dialogue seminar in Damascus to discuss public awareness and civil peace

Under the title "People's Awareness in Times of War and Civil Peace," the Syria Future Party, in cooperation with the Democratic Union Party, organized a dialogue seminar in Damascus on Saturday.

The seminar, which began with a minute of silence, included two main sessions; the first, titled "People's Awareness," was presented by Adnan Hassan, a member of the Syria Future Party.

"Modern wars target not land, but perceptions."

The discussion included a point that wars are no longer fought with weapons alone, but have become battles waged in the minds of people before they are fought on the battlefields.

Therefore, collective consciousness is no longer merely a reflection of reality, but has become an arena reshaped through various tools, from media and political discourse to the digital sphere.

The idea was also raised that modern wars target not so much the land as they target perception, where facts are redefined and narratives are rewritten to serve the interests of specific powers.

Participants discussed the role of people in navigating between being swept along by directed rhetoric and possessing the capacity for discernment and intellectual resistance.

Aware people are not merely those who possess information, but those who possess the ability to analyze it, deconstruct it, and reject the disguised illusions imposed upon them.

"Maintaining this peace cannot be achieved through slogans."

This session focused on the concept of civil peace, describing it as a fragile state that can be fractured if the social fabric is targeted through the sowing of discord and division.

The discussions emphasized that maintaining this peace is not achieved through slogans, but rather through building a critical awareness that strengthens the values ​​of cohesion and rejects being drawn into hate speech and division.

The session also addressed psychological warfare, considered one of the most dangerous tools of our time, as it indirectly influences individuals' feelings and behavior, making societies vulnerable to collapse flwithout a single shot being fired.

In conclusion, the seminar saw a consensus on a fundamental point: awareness is no longer an intellectual luxury, but an existential necessity and the last line of defense against attempts at disintegration and deception. Societies that are aware of the plots being hatched against them have a chance to survive, while those lacking this awareness may find themselves embroiled in a battle they did not choose.
