Detained officers transferred to Afrin prison

The Damascus authorities have transferred detained officers from the former regime to prisons in Afrin, occupied by Turkey and its mercenaries. The authorities continue to conceal the fate of more than 8,000 detainees in the prisons of Hama, Adra, and Harem, and the Ministry of Defense refuses to provide any clarification.

The Damascus authorities continue to conceal the fate of detainees in the prisons of Hama, Adra, and Harem, amid repeated demands to reveal the fate of more than 8,000 detainees who have been detained for nearly 146 days, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported the transfer of a number of detained officers, with the rank of captain and above, from Hama prison to Afrin prison. This occurred without any official announcement from the Damascus-based Ministry of Defense, which continues to refuse to provide any information about the detainees' fate or explain the reasons for their transfer, despite nearly five months of detention.

According to SOHR, the aforementioned prisons house officers and personnel who surrendered without a fight, in addition to civilians arrested during raids or at checkpoints.
