Deputy UN Envoy to Syria: Turkish state attacks target civilians, infrastructure

 During a briefing to the UN Security Council on Syria, the Deputy UN Envoy to Syria, Najat Rushdi, said that the attacks of the Turkish occupation state on the north and east of the country caused human losses and significant damage to infrastructure.

 The UN official explained that an increasing number of Syrians are living in a continuous cycle of violence and suffering, as the areas they were seeking refuge in have become vulnerable to attacks.

Rushdi warned that Syria is still in a state of war and deep division, calling for the protection of all Syrians, expressing her deep concern over the Israeli raids on Syria, which led to civilian casualties and damage to infrastructure.

 She also stressed that the political and humanitarian challenges in Syria require comprehensive political solutions, in accordance with Security Council Resolution 2254, pointing to the need to resume the meetings of the Constitutional Committee, and calling at the same time on all Syrian and international parties to put the main issues on the table and work seriously towards a political settlement.
