Democratic Islam Conference organizes lecture in al-Shaddadi

In the framework of enhancing religious and political awareness and contributing to building a new Syria on the foundations of moderate democracy, the Democratic Islam Conference organized a lecture titled "A Call for Awareness," which addressed the conference's political and religious vision. The lecture was held in al-Shaddadi city of Jazira Canton, in which a number of institutions' administrators of the city participated.

The administrator in the Mosque Affairs Committee at the Democratic Islam Conference, Ahmed al-Jassem, made clear that the primary goal of the lecture is to spread political and religious awareness and integrate Islamic values ​​with modern democracy. This will help fulfill citizens' aspirations for a better future and build a state based on freedom, justice, and social cohesion.

Al-Jassem pointed out that Syria is going through a pivotal phase in its modern history, facing complex political, religious, and societal challenges, along with regional and international interventions seeking to advance their own interests at the expense of the country's national and human fabric.

For her part, the administrator of the Endowments (Awqaf) Office in al-Shaddadi, Muntaha Muhaimid read a bulletin on religious awareness. She emphasized that religious discourse must be profound and keep up with scientific and human development. This discourse must be based on the essence of the Prophet Muhammad's message which is based on justice and freedom, not oppression and stagnation.

 She added that formal rituals are meaningless without understanding the essence of divine messages' that emanate from humanity itself.

The participants emphasized the importance of political and religious awareness in confronting current challenges, and the role of religious institutions in supporting dialogue, peaceful co-existence, in addition to strengthening national unity.

At the conclusion of the lecture, the way opened for discussion and questions from the audience who emphasized the need to continue these activities to reinforce political and religious education in society and enable citizens to participate actively in building a new Syria based on democracy, justice, and equality.
