Damascus Government's Ministry of Defense issues instructions to cover up its crimes

The Damascus Government's Ministry of Defense issued a series of new instructions, claiming they aim to "control military operations and protect information." However, their essence reveals a direct attempt to prevent any documentation of the crimes committed by these forces, particularly in Sweida and the coast over the past months.

The decisions included a comprehensive ban on filming at military sites, field movements, and training courses, in addition to a ban on publishing any content showing personnel in military uniform on social media. This is a clear attempt to conceal the crimes, including leaked photos and videos of the raids on towns and villages in Jabal al-Arab.

The ministry also prohibited military personnel from making any statements or sharing information or unit locations, in an attempt to prevent the leaking of news about violations and arbitrary arrests.

Revealing the ideological background of these forces, the ministry emphasized the adoption of unified logos and prohibited the placement of any unapproved symbols on military uniforms. This exposes the use of ISIS symbols and slogans by its personnel in previous operations.

These instructions, described as "legal and disciplinary," are merely a belated attempt to obscure evidence and silence dissent, after images of massacres and violations began to circulate widely, confirming the involvement of the Ministry of Defense and its direct leadership in what happened in Sweida and the coast.
