DAA sends urgent humanitarian aid to Sweida, calls for national unity efforts

In a statement issued today, the Social Affairs and Labor Authority of the Democratic Autonomous Administration for North and East Syria announced the dispatch of a batch of urgent humanitarian aid to Sweida Governorate, in direct response to the deteriorating humanitarian situation caused by recent developments on the ground.

The statement read: "Driven by our moral and humanitarian duty, and in loyalty to our national and societal values, we announce the dispatch of a batch of urgent humanitarian aid to our people in Sweida, who are facing extremely difficult humanitarian conditions."

The statement noted that the recent attacks targeting areas in Sweida have had serious impacts on living conditions and public services, including severe shortages of basic necessities and disruptions to essential services, prompting the authority to act urgently out of solidarity and national responsibility.

The Authority emphasized that this step is part of a series of humanitarian initiatives that will continue based on the scale of needs and available resources. It called on all national actors, as well as humanitarian and charitable organizations, to unify efforts and intensify support to strengthen the resilience of the population and alleviate their suffering.

The statement concluded by reaffirming full solidarity with the people of Sweida, stressing the need to respect the sanctity of civilians and spare them the horrors of conflict. It called for reason and dialogue instead of violence and escalation, and reaffirmed the sanctity of Syrian blood and the unity of fate.

It is worth noting that Sweida has witnessed a serious escalation in recent days, directly impacting the humanitarian situation, amid growing calls for relief for the affected population and an end to the violations against them.
