DAA in al-Tabqa: participants in the national dialogue conference do not represent the canton

The Democratic Autonomous Administration of al- Tabqa Canton issued a statement today in front of the administration building, in the presence of its members, read by the co-chair of the Democratic People's Council, Suad Oso, regarding the "National Dialogue Conference" held in Damascus by the Damascus Authority, which stated:

At a time when Syrians aspire to a life characterized by freedom, equality, and democracy, after a struggle that lasted more than fourteen years, during which immense sacrifices were made, culminating in the fall of the fallen regime that practiced oppression and tyranny against the Syrian people in general, and adopted a policy of exclusion and marginalization against the Syrian components, leading the country towards destruction and ruin.

The statement indicated: "Establishing the foundations of democracy requires building it on solid principles based on the participation of all Syrians in the political and transitional process and choosing their representatives at all stages without excluding any party."

He pointed out: "At a time when the Syrian people are pinning their hopes on the new phase, in building a pluralistic, democratic, decentralized Syria, the new administration has made some mistakes in managing the transitional phase, which will negatively impact the future of Syria."

The statement continued: "Recently, a committee was formed to prepare for the convening of a national conference, and it held several meetings, which raised the ire of Syrians who viewed this committee with suspicion and doubt, as it does not represent all components of the Syrian people."

The statement pointed out: "Such committees and conferences, which are one-sided and lack genuine participation from all components, including their political parties, civil society organizations, women, and youth, will not satisfy the aspirations and hopes of the Syrians for a free and dignified life characterized by justice, equality, and democracy."

The statement added: "At a time when the Autonomous Administration invited the National Dialogue Committee to hold a dialogue with the components of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria, this committee resorted to devious methods in inviting figures who represent only themselves and do not meet the aspirations of the Syrians. We affirm that it is impossible to build on what is produced by what is called the 'National Dialogue Conference' being held today in establishing the foundations of democracy."

The statement demanded: "The necessity of involving all parties in the comprehensive national dialogue, and we reject the inclusion of figures who do not represent the will of the people of the North and East Syria region. We urge the new administration to approach this sensitive stage with national responsibility and not to succumb to the pressures exerted on it by the Turkish state."
