The Qatar Red Crescent published new information on virtual social networking sites about its participation in changing the demographics of the Syrian regions occupied by Turkey and its mercenaries, through building settlements, using the Syrian refugee file as an umbrella.

The Qatar Red Crescent wrote in its latest post on virtual social networking sites that the establishment of 13 settlements in northern Syria has been completed in cooperation with Turkey claiming that it is intended for displaced Syrians.

The Democratic Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria, in a statement, expressed its condemnation of the practices of the “Qatar Red Crescent” and confirmed that it will move in all areas of work to open an international investigation and hold the parties involved accountable. It said: “What is happening in Afrin in terms of occupation and violations is a direct targeting of the Syrian identity and what "There is a danger to the Syrian geography."

The statement stated:

“With the passage of six years since the occupation of Afrin and the displacement of its people from it, amid the practices and violations of mercenaries supported by Turkey, demographic change, and ongoing genocide at all levels, entities and institutions are colluding with Turkey in its policies against Afrin, its people, and against its history, seeking to perpetuate the Turkish occupation and its policies in settling terrorist mercenaries and their families. .

Among these institutions is the Qatari Red Crescent, and what it officially confirmed in support of the so-called settlements in Afrin, as well as Kuwaiti institutions. This work is an “immoral act” and outside the nature of the Red Crescent and the well-known charters, as it is a humanitarian institution concerned with matters of aid and assistance, and the State of Qatar bears responsibility for this primarily because what is done cannot be done without official government approval.

At a time when we strongly condemn these practices by the Red Crescent and other Kuwaiti bodies that cooperate with Turkey in changing the identity of Afrin at the expense of the tragedy of its people, we call for the necessity and “urgent” manner for human rights and humanitarian institutions and bodies to move towards reducing these behaviors in occupied Afrin, calling for immediate action to form “immediate” fact-finding committees and hold perpetrators accountable, as well as an emphasis by international and human rights bodies on preventing institutions concerned with humanitarian support from participating in political projects, as the Qatar Red Crescent does.

Emphasizing that we will move and in all areas of work to open an international investigation and hold accountable those involved in such immoral policies, as well as what is happening in Afrin in terms of occupation and violations that directly target the Syrian identity by describing Afrin as part of Syria, and what is happening there is a threat to the entire Syrian geography, which raises the question of what it is. And the role of the Damascus government, which has always talked about sovereignty and Syrian unity.”
