The co-chair of the Girê Spî Counci, Haza'a Mohammed, stated to ANHA's agency, "Turkey continues to violate laws and agreements, and is escalating its targeting of the North and East Syria region."
In his statement to ANAH's agency, the co-chair of the Girê Spî Counci commented on the ongoing attacks by the Turkish occupying state, particularly on infrastructure such as energy and water. He pointed out that the latest of these attacks was the targeting of the al-Haysha water station, which supplies around 50 villages. The shelling has intensified over the past two days on the villages located along the front lines, resulting in the station going out of service.
The targeting that occurred on the 11th of this month led to the disruption of the medium voltage cables supplying the station between al-Khamiah and al-Naqiah, resulting in its shutdown. This deprived approximately 24,000 people of drinking water in the villages served by this station (the villages of al-Haysha and its surroundings).
Haza'a Mohammed pointed out that the targeting of the service facility is not the first of its kind, as this facility has been bombed several times with the aim of rendering it completely out of service, just as happened with the al-Fatisa drinking water station.
Haza'a indicated that the aim of the Turkish targeting and shelling is to destabilize the region and weaken its services, with the goal of forcing the resilient, resistant residents to migrate.
Mohammed held the Russian forces accountable, criticizing their stance, which arrived in the region in 2019, for the responsibility and repercussions of the attacks by the occupying Turkish state. He stated: "There is a binding agreement that prevents these aggressions (the October 22, 2019 agreement, the 'Sochi Agreement' between the Russian and Turkish sides), which stipulated the deployment of Russian forces along the border adjacent to the territories occupied by Turkey from the cities of Sere Kaniye and Tal- Abyad to ensure a ceasefire and protect civilians."
Haza'a pointed out that the emergency teams rushed to fix the malfunctions that the facility experienced, despite the seriousness of the situation and the risk of being targeted, to ensure that drinking water reaches our people in that area.
He concluded his speech by emphasizing the necessity for the international community and the Russian guarantor to take action to restrain the occupying Turkish state from attacks that harm the lives of peaceful residents in their areas, and to fulfill their commitments to stop such violations.
