A family from Sweida has lost contact with their son inside the building of the Transitional Government’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Syria since last Wednesday.

The family of a young man from the town of al-Kafr in rural Sweida has been searching for him after communication with him was cut off in Damascus last Wednesday.

The family said that their son, Moa’tasem Ismail Adnan (26 years old), went to Damascus on Tuesday to authenticate passports and official documents belonging to his brother’s wife and the mother of his two brothers, before contact with him suddenly stopped at 12:30 p.m. inside the building of the Transitional Government’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Syria.

They added that their repeated attempts to reach him have failed, and that his cousin went to Damascus to inquire about his whereabouts but obtained no information.

The family confirmed that Moa’tasem had been living abroad in the UAE before returning to Syria on vacation, and that he has no legal problems. They expressed deep concern and called on the relevant authorities to help determine his location and reveal his fate if he has been detained.
