Co-Chair of the Autonomous Administration's Department of Relations Invited to Istanbul Conference

The Peoples' Equality and Democracy Party (EGEDP) will hold a conference on the call of leader Abdullah Ocalan, entitled "International Peace and Democratic Society," in Istanbul on December 6 and 7.

The conference is expected to be attended by prominent figures from Kurdistan, Turkey, and numerous other countries around the world. The conference will discuss the "Peace and Democratic Society" call launched by leader Abdullah Ocalan.

The conference will also be attended by many individuals from the Basque Country, Africa, Kazakhstan, and Belgium. Sinn Féin from Ireland will also participate.

Tayyip Temel, the co-chair of the Peoples' Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Partî) responsible for press and publicity, spoke to the Welat News Agency about the conference.

Tayyip Temel stated that the aim of launching the "Peace and Democratic Society" process is to acknowledge the existence of the Kurds and other nations, adding: "This historic process has been ongoing since February 27th. Recently, the parliamentary committee also met with Mr. Abdullah Ocalan. This process tells us that we are in a new era, and this era holds many special characteristics for the people of Kurdistan." Since February 27th, numerous international philosophers, writers, and Nobel laureates approximately 120 prominent figures in total have expressed their support for Mr. Ocalan's call. Many of them have also stated that if the process succeeds, Mr. Ocalan should be nominated for the Nobel Prize. This also means that this process is of particular importance to the Kurdish people, as it enjoys significant support worldwide. Individuals such as Slavoj Žižek, Noam Pejč, and many Marxists from the Middle East and the international community have expressed their support for Mr. Ocalan's ideas. Through this conference, which will be held on December 6th and 7th, we want to openly discuss some issues related to this process." Tayyip Temel also provided information about the conference's content and objectives, stating, "We want to explore how prominent human rights advocates around the world view this process from a particular perspective, and how philosophers, many of whom are socialists, evaluate Mr. Abdullah Ocalan's thought on democratic communes. We also want to hear what prominent human rights advocates like Mehmet Rauf and others say about the 'right to hope,' and about Mr. Abdullah Ocalan's freedom and release. The 'right to hope' is a universal right. Therefore, we want to address all these issues at this conference, with the support of numerous observers. We don't just want to listen to the speakers; we want to discuss these topics."

A message from Leader Abdullah Ocalan will be read at the conference.

Tayyip Temel stated that preparations for the conference are well underway and that invitations to prominent figures are being extended.

He added that the framework of the conference is now clear, saying: "The renowned Belgian lawyer Georges Dallemagne will attend the conference. Noam Beech, who has extensive ideas and opinions on peace, ending the war, law, and freedom, will also participate. Many other prominent legal experts will be present. Laura Boldrini will also be there. The Marxist jurist John Holloway, whose work is significant, will also be in attendance. Igor Zolaquia from the Basque Country will be present.

As is well known, the peace process in the Basque Country has faced many obstacles and has frequently stalled; it is a very important process for the Basque experience and will be addressed in this context. Veysi Aktaş will also read a message from Mr. Abdullah Ocalan. The purpose of the conference is to bring us together with the participants. This conference, through its content and participants, will influence the 'Peace and Democratic Society' process that has begun in Kurdistan and Turkey. The conference's final declaration will also be drafted. This declaration will outline the course of action on the international stage and the framework for diplomatic efforts."

Ilham Ahmed also invited to the conference

Tayeb Temel explained that they are making efforts to ensure that Ilham Ahmed, co-chair of the Department of Foreign Relations of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria, also participates in the conference.

He continued, saying, "If the necessary conditions are met, Ilham Ahmed will participate in the conference on behalf of the Autonomous Administration. However, this is contingent upon removing the legal obstacles. If she is unable to attend in person, she will send a message or participate remotely via video conference. Many other prominent figures and celebrities, whose names we will not disclose at this time, will also participate remotely via video conference."

Tayyip Temel noted that their work would continue after the conference, concluding, "An international effort has begun. The foundation of this effort is to disseminate the ideas and views of Leader Ocalan worldwide, redefine Marxism and explain socialism globally, and demonstrate the profound interest in the truth. Socialism has entered a crisis with the collapse of real socialism. It has suffered an internal crisis. Capitalism has launched a major offensive against all societies worldwide. The resistance and stance of socialists against this is commendable, but socialist theory is being reinterpreted by Mr. Ocalan. He is re-evaluating class theory, state theory, and nation-state theory.

This conference will provide an opportunity for the international community to become acquainted with and highlight Mr. Ocalan's ideas and views. There is already considerable interest in this matter. I believe that in the near future, a major international event will be organized and held on the global stage. We will invite Turkey from the international arena, and we will work to promote Mr. Ocalan's ideas and views, thus strengthening the foundation for a more international future. The outcomes of this conference will bolster diplomatic and international efforts. We invite all those, whether invited or not, who are familiar with these prominent figures and interested in their ideas and views, to attend the conference on December 6th and 7th. We hope that those who attend and participate in the conference will benefit from these assessments.
