Congratulations from Kurdistan National Congress on occasion of Eid al-Fitr

On the occasion of Eid al-Fitr, the Kurdistan National Conference (KNK) extended its congratulations to the people of Kurdistan and the entire Islamic world, especially to the detainees and freedom-seeking fighters. It expressed its hope that Eid al-Fitr would be a means of peace and stability throughout Kurdistan and around the world.

In its statement, the conference said: "We celebrate the beginning of spring and the week of Newroz with great enthusiasm throughout Kurdistan. The Newroz celebrations witnessed strong interaction, especially in Eastern and Northern Kurdistan, and we welcome Eid al-Fitr with the same enthusiasm."

The statement referred to "the ongoing dialogue between the Turkish state and the Kurdistan Liberation Movement in Northern Kurdistan, where no concrete steps have been taken other than statements. A protocol was also signed between the Democratic Autonomous Administration in Rojava and the Damascus administration," expressing hope for positive results that would contribute to resolve outstanding issues through peaceful means.

Despite these hopes, the statement reflected the dire situation in various regions of Kurdistan, warning of the continued occupation and threats against the Kurdish people in all areas. It also pointed to the worsening social and economic issues in Eastern and Southern Kurdistan. The statement called on all Kurdish forces to stand united against these threats.

The Kurdistan National Conference concluded its statement by affirming the hope that the Kurdish people would soon celebrate their holidays and celebrations on their free land in peace.

It extended its congratulations on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr to all detainees and freedom fighters, and to all the people of Kurdistan and the Islamic world.
