Completion of High Electoral Commission committees’ formation in the 7 Cantons

In the NE Syria, the formation of the High Electoral Commission committees within the region's 7 Cantons has ended, with the formation of the People's Democratic Council in Afrin and Shahba Canton for the provincial election committee.

The Democratic Autonmous-Administration of Afrin and Shahba canton in the NE Syria region has formed the High Electoral Commission Committee for the Canton,, consisting of 8 people. It is the seventh and last committee to be formed in the region, before starting to form electoral committees within cities and towns.

As part of the ongoing preparations for the upcoming municipal elections on May 30, the People’s Democratic Council in Afrin and Shahba Canton formed the High Commission Committee for the canton’s elections. The committee consists of 8 members, both male and female.

The formation of the Afrin and Shahba Canton Committee was preceded by the formation of 6 committees within 6 Cantons in the region, by the Democratic Peoples’ Councils in “Raqqa, Deir ez-Zor, Jazera, Manbij, Tabqa, and Euphrates.” Bringing their number to 7.

Then the committees within the Cantond began forming electoral committees in cities and towns.
