Conflicting reports have emerged regarding control over areas between the HTS mercenaries, aligned with the Turkish occupying state, and the Damascus government forces. The mercenaries claimed full control over the western countryside of Aleppo, including the village of Mansoura. However, the Damascus government swiftly denied these claims, announcing the recapture of several villages in the Aleppo and Idlib fronts.

The villages witnessing back-and-forth operations between the Damascus government and the mercenaries include Mansoura and Khan Al-Asal, where clashes are concentrated on their outskirts in the western Aleppo axis. Additionally, the government has regained control of the village of Jubas in the eastern Idlib countryside.

Fierce clashes are also ongoing on the outskirts of the strategic town of Anadan, which overlooks the Castello Road, as the mercenaries attempt to seize the route connecting northern Aleppo countryside to the city.

The Damascus government's attempts to reclaim lost territories over the past 72 hours came after receiving reinforcements, including heavy weaponry and hundreds of troops from the 4th Division, 25th Special Mission Forces Division, and the 11th Division.

The death toll on both sides has risen to over 231, including 129 mercenaries, 89 government forces, and 20 civilians killed due to mutual shelling and airstrikes.

Meanwhile, the Hmeimim Airbase announced that the Damascus government, with support from Russian air forces, eliminated at least 400 mercenaries who attacked government-controlled areas in Aleppo and Idlib provinces.

Iran's Tasnim News Agency reported the death of Iranian Revolutionary Guard General Kiyumars Borhashimi in Aleppo on Thursday during an attack led by Turkish-backed mercenaries in the city’s western countryside.

In a related development, the Damascus government forces have been conducting intense shelling with rocket launchers and heavy artillery from Aleppo city since last night, continuing until this morning. This was accompanied by approximately 70 airstrikes by the Syrian and Russian air forces since the latest clashes began.

Some sources indicated that Russian warplanes targeted a headquarters of the so-called "Joint Force" mercenaries affiliated with the Turkish occupation army in the occupied city of Marea, killing over 20 mercenaries and injuring dozens.

Targeting Aleppo neighborhoods

What distinguishes the third day of this operation is that Turkish occupation mercenaries managed to target Aleppo city neighborhoods for the first time in years with several shells, reportedly landing near New Aleppo and Al-Hamdaniya neighborhoods, according to various sources.
