Clashes around Hama as Damascus government brings in military reinforcements

The battlefronts between Damascus government forces and Turkish-backed mercenaries near the city of Hama have witnessed fierce clashes, following the arrival of "massive" military reinforcements by government forces to the city.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported that the mercenaries of "Hay'at Tahrir al-Sham" failed to seize control of Mount Zayn al-Abidin near Hama, after fierce battles with Damascus government forces.

In this context, Damascus government forces launched a counterattack after midnight on Tuesday-Wednesday, backed by warplanes. They managed to retake the villages of Kafr Aabid and Ma'ar Shuhour, pushing the "Hay'at Tahrir al-Sham" mercenaries back approximately 10 kilometers from Hama city.

Meanwhile, military reinforcements for the Damascus government forces have arrived at the northern, eastern, and western fronts of Hama’s countryside.

A military source from Damascus' official news agency stated that "large military reinforcements have arrived in Hama city to strengthen the forces on the frontlines and counter any potential attacks by the armed terrorist organizations."
