Two people sustained varying injuries earlier today when a car near the civilian prison in Sweida was targeted by a drone, according to ANHA correspondent in the city.

She made clear that the incident inflicted material damage to the car, and the injured were transferred to the hospital for receiving the medical treatment. In addition, the security authorities have opened a preliminary investigation to determine the circumstances of the attack and identify those responsible.

This incident comes amid repeated daily attacks by the Syrian Interim Government Forces on the city of Sweida and its surrounding countryside, as the city and its environs have been being subjected to intermittent shelling and ongoing armed operations since last July.

This is compounded by the ongoing siege, which has led to a deterioration in living conditions and increased tension among civilians, with restricted movement and a direct impact on access of food, fuel, and basic services.
