According to local sources from Latakia, the victim—identified as a member of the Al-Badri family from the Al-Raml al-Janoubi neighborhood—was abducted about two weeks ago while at work near the city of Jableh.

His body was discovered dumped in one of the orchards in the area, bearing clear marks of torture.

This crime comes amid growing security chaos in areas under the control of the transitional government in Syria, where sectarian-motivated murders and kidnappings have been on the rise in predominantly Alawite regions, with no accountability or pursuit of the perpetrators—further deepening residents’ fears.
