Autonomous Administration declares holiday for Islamic New Year

The Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria announced the suspension of work in all its official departments and institutions on Thursday, June 26, 2025, on the occasion of the Islamic New Year, with the exception of institutions whose nature of work requires continuous operation.

The Co-Presidency of the Executive Council of the Democratic Autonomous Administration of the North and East Syria region issued Circular No. 16, by which official working hours are suspended on the occasion of the Islamic New Year. The circular stated:

"Based on the official holidays law in the Autonomous Administration and in line with the requirements of public interest,

The Co-Presidency of the Executive Council of the Democratic Autonomous Administration of the North and East Syria region issues the following directive:

On the occasion of the Islamic New Year, all official institutions and departments of the Democratic Autonomous Administration of the North and East Syria region shall suspend work on Thursday, June 26, 2025, with the exception of institutions whose nature of work requires continuity.

This directive shall be circulated to all concerned parties for implementation."
