Arrival of martyr Nuradin Sofi’s body at his hometown

The body of martyr Nuradin Sofi, leader of the Rojava Revolution in North and East Syria, arrived at the entrance of Qamishlo city, where thousands from the region’s communities, including Kurds, Arabs, Syriacs, and Armenians, gathered to receive it, along with political parties and social and cultural organizations.

This morning, the funeral procession departed from Derik hospital, accompanied by thousands of mourners from the Jazira Canton and the martyr’s relatives, passing through Girkê Legê, Çil Agha, and Tirbespiye, where crowds lined the roadsides to bid farewell.

Upon arrival, thousands of people, young and old, gathered, holding photos of the martyr and chanting slogans such as “With our souls and blood, we sacrifice for you, martyr” and “Martyrs are our spiritual leaders,” expressing their loyalty to the revolution’s symbols.

The martyr’s body is scheduled to be transported to the Martyrs’ Families Council center, where an official farewell ceremony will take place at 17:00 at the 12 March Martyrs’ Stadium, including speeches from representatives of institutions and communities, before the body is transferred to the martyr Dalil Sarokhan’s cemetery for burial.

The preparatory committee also called on the public to refrain from firing weapons during the reception ceremonies to ensure everyone’s safety.
