On Tuesday, the Syrian Democratic Forces issued a statement to the public, confirming that their forces arrested two leaders of ISIS mercenaries in Qamishlo and Raqqa.
The text of the Syrian Democratic Forces statement read: “The TOL military operations teams of our forces, the Syrian Democratic Forces, carried out two precise security operations, in which they arrested two leaders of the terrorist organization ISIS in both the cities of Qamishlo and Raqqa. One of them was among those who planned the terrorist operation that took place.” In Al-Shuhail on May 10th.
In the first operation carried out by our forces in the city of Qamishlo, on Wednesday, May 15, they arrested the terrorist called “Ahmed Mahmoud al-Qurashi,” nicknamed “Abu Moaz al-Kurdi.”
The terrorist “Ahmed” had joined the ranks of the terrorist organization “ISIS” early on, and participated in carrying out terrorist operations in most Syrian regions. After eliminating the terrorist organization in Baghouz in 2019; The terrorist “Ahmed” fled to the Syrian desert to work in the security field and provide the ISIS organization with information and plan terrorist operations as a leader. Then he was able to infiltrate the Autonomous Administration areas, after disappearing for a long time in the Syrian desert, where he was planning terrorist operations, including the recent suicide attack on a point of our forces in the town of “al-Shuhail” in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor.
The second operation took place in the city of Raqqa, also on the 15th of this month, with the support of the International Coalition Forces, where the military operations teams were able to collect information about the presence of the terrorist “Ahmed Thamer Al-Muhammad.” As our forces imposed on the 15th of this month as well; A cordon was placed around the whereabouts of the terrorist “Thamer”, and he was forced to surrender to our forces.
The terrorist “Thamer” was active in ISIS organization’s ranks in most Syrian regions, but after the organization was geographically eliminated; He also moved to work in the security field, collecting information and planning terrorist operations, and became a leader in the ISIS organization. He was directly responsible for the organization in both Raqqa and Deir ez-Zor, and he was responsible for all terrorist operations in them, as he received his instructions from the organization’s leaders present in the regions. Which is occupied by the Turkish occupation state.
Our forces confirm that they will continue to pursue the remnants of the remaining cells of the terrorist organization “ISIS”, until all areas are cleansed of their terrorism and evils.
