Appointment of new commander for Internal Security Forces in Sweida

The Supreme Legal Committee in Sweida Governorate announced the appointment of Judge Shadi Fayez Murshid as commander of the Internal Security Forces in the governorate, pursuant to Decision No. (5), following the apology of Brigadier General Shakib Ajoud Nasr for assuming the position.

The committee confirmed, in the text of the decision signed by the head of the Supreme Legal Committee, Judge Muhannad Abu Faour, that the appointment comes within the framework of restructuring the security apparatus and assigning new tasks within it.

This decision comes at a time when Sweida is witnessing ongoing efforts to independently reorganize its judicial and security institutions, in line with the current phase and the delicate security and political circumstances facing the region. This is particularly true following the events and massacres committed by forces affiliated with the Syrian transitional government against the people of the province.

It is worth noting that the Supreme Legal Committee in Sweida, which emanates from the spiritual leadership of the Druze community, announced on the sixth of this month the formation of a temporary executive office to manage the affairs of Sweida and its countryside.
