ANHA agency monitors transitional Gov. forces’ positions around al-Ashrafieh ,al-Layramoun

ANHA correspondents documented with audio and video the establishment of several military posts along Tariq bin Ziyad Park in al-Ashrafieh neighborhood, alongside the raising of earth berms in al-Layramoun area, located on the western edge of the same neighborhood.

Tariq bin Ziyad Park lies on the outskirts of al-Ashrafieh and extends to reach al-Muhalab military barracks near Sheikhhan Roundabout on one side.

The recorded footage showed the Transitional Government forces setting up military points inside the park, with the park completely devoid of civilians after they were evacuated. Military equipment was also observed being deployed at the site.

Additionally, several nearby buildings were documented being converted into military points, such as the Tariq bin Ziyad Barracks and the French Specialized Hospital. Defensive positions were noted on the rooftops and upper floors, despite these locations being vital civilian points.

In another video recorded on the western side of al-Ashrafieh neighborhood along al-Layramoun area, vehicles affiliated with the Transitional Government were seen placing earth berms on some roads leading to al-Ashrafieh, accompanied by a military vehicle.

It is worth mentioning that these recent movements and the raising of berms have obstructed the functioning of joint checkpoints between the Internal Security Forces (Asayish) and the forces affiliated with the Transitional Government in Syria. This has led to confusion in the coordination of security tasks and increased tensions around the shared points.
