Al-Shibani, Ishaq Dar discuss expanding Syria-Pakistan cooperation

The Syrian and Pakistani foreign ministries said that talks between Al-Shibani and Ishaq Dar focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation and developing relations between Damascus and Islamabad, as well as exchanging views on regional and international issues.

On Thursday, Syrian Foreign and Expatriates Minister in the Transitional Government, Asaad Al-Shibani, met with Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammed Ishaq Dar in the capital, Islamabad.

According to statements issued by both sides, the talks focused on “ways to strengthen bilateral relations and develop joint cooperation in various fields.”

The meeting also addressed regional and international developments and efforts aimed at supporting security and stability in the region, according to a statement from the Syrian Transitional Government’s Foreign Ministry.

Meanwhile, the Pakistani side said in a separate statement that the two countries share deep fraternal ties, adding that talks with Al-Shibani covered ways to expand cooperation in areas of mutual interest.

The discussions also included an exchange of views on a number of regional and international issues, as part of efforts to enhance coordination and cooperation between Damascus and Islamabad.
