Al-Sharaa’s list for membership in Syrian Parliament

Earlier, the official list of members appointed by the head of the interim government in Syria, Ahmed al-Sharaa, was announced as part of his allocation in the parliament, totaling 70 seats, representing one-third of the 210-member council.

The announcement was made during a press conference held in Damascus, in a statement delivered by the head of the Supreme Elections Committee for the “People’s Assembly,” Muhammad Taha al-Ahmad, after the committee completed its work following a series of meetings and interviews held between June 15 and 21 with more than 100 male and female candidates, in order to select the names to be submitted to al-Sharaa for approval as part of the presidential appointments.

With the announcement of this list, the quota of appointments allocated to Ahmed al-Sharaa is completed, bringing the total number of parliamentary members to completion, except for representatives of the Sweida governorate, whose members have not yet been selected. Meanwhile, the parliament is expected to hold its first session next Monday, marking the beginning of its work in accordance with the previously announced procedures.
