Al-Risheh Residents demand leader Ocalan’s freedom for peace, democracy

Amid the ongoing isolation imposed by Turkish occupation authorities on Abdullah Ocalan in Imrali Prison for nearly 27 years, the people of Al-Risheh expressed their condemnation of this isolation. They emphasized that achieving not only certain humanitarian demands but also the leader’s physical freedom is a fundamental step toward peace and stability in the region.

Leader Ocalan’s thought as a Source of Inspiration for Struggle and Freedom

Asia Muhammad, a member of the Protection Committee in Al-Risheh City Council, stated: “The ideology of Abdullah Ocalan has played a central role in empowering women activists, enabling them to actively participate in all administrative and military fields.”

She added: “Thanks to his thought, women now participate in all areas. We call on international organizations that claim to defend human rights to intervene and end this unjust isolation. We will continue to demand the leader’s freedom until our last breath.”

Citizen Seham Muhammad affirmed the continuation of popular and women-led activism demanding the end of leader Ocalan’s isolation. She said: “We will keep struggling for the leader and demand to see him free. On behalf of all women in the southern region, we will continue organizing events calling for his liberation.” She emphasized that leader Abdullah Ocalan represents a global human symbol, stating: “His thought and philosophy have transcended boundaries and influenced the minds and hearts of many peoples and communities, as he advocates justice and equality among all humans.”

Citizen Muhammad Al-Jum’a stated: “We demand the lifting of leader Ocalan’s isolation in Imrali Prison. We call on human rights organizations and the international community to exert serious pressure on the Turkish government to end this unjust isolation.”

 He added: “ Leader Ocalan’s thought, based on peace, democracy, and human rights, has greatly contributed to spreading a culture of freedom and justice. We see his physical freedom as a vital step toward ending conflicts and achieving stability in the entire region.”
