The Internal Security Forces, the Syrian Democratic Forces, and the Women's Protection Units launched the "Permanent Security" operation in the al-Hol camp and its surroundings in al-Jazira region on November 6th.
In this context, the co-chair of the al-Hol camp, Jihan Hanan, revealed in an interview with ANHA's agency that the "Enduring Security" operation was initiated at the request of the local residents following movements by ISIS mercenaries and their attempts to reach the al-Hol camp, launch attacks on the Internal Security Forces, and pose a threat to the routes used by organizations operating in the camp.
She pointed out that ISIS mercenaries, during the past period, attempted to launch several attacks on the companies operating in the al-Hol camp along the road connecting al-Hasakah and al-Hol.
Jihan Hanan pointed out that the "Enduring Security" operation has so far achieved significant results within the camp, by arresting mercenaries who were extorting the camp's residents, and uncovering the body of a woman, trenches, weapons, equipment, and devices that were in the possession of ISIS mercenary families.
She indicated that the camp administration's work did not stop during the operation period, as they tried to provide all the necessary services to the families, explaining that there was cooperation between the forces participating in the operation and the camp's work crews.
The co-chair of the al-Hol camp, Jihan Hanan, expected a relative stability outside and inside the camp after the Permanent Security Operation, due to the significant results it achieved, and is awaiting a permanent solution to the issue of ISIS mercenaries in prisons and their families in the camps.
In this context, she pointed out that the international community's role towards the al-Hol camp is insufficient in all aspects and said that the international community is required to support the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria and to resolve the issue of ISIS mercenaries and their families.
The operation has so far achieved results, including the arrest of 84 ISIS mercenaries and their collaborators in the countryside and in the al-Hol camp, and search and inspection operations inside the camp are still ongoing.
