On Tuesday, al-Asr Human Rights Office issued a statement denying recent statements attributed to it in an interview published on Monday. The statement clarified that some media outlets and social media accounts distorted the interview published on behalf of it. It also emphasized that there were no criticisms directed by the Leader Abdullah Ocalan at the Peoples' Democracy and Equality Party (DEM Partî).

The statement read, "The claim that Mr. Ocalan is referring to the Peoples' Democracy and Equality Party in his criticisms is baseless. While all parties may be the subject of his criticism, his statement focused on the lack of seriousness required by the entire political establishment in Turkey in dealing with the issue of the century, and the transformation of politics into an arena for conflict of interests, not specifically targeting the mentioned party."

It pointed out that, "This statement is directed at all of Turkish politics and has no connection to the Peoples' Democracy and Equality Party, contrary to the widespread allegations."

The office emphasized that distorting the content of the interview does not serve the path to peace and reconciliation, nor does it contribute to building a democratic society. Furthermore, it called on all parties to approach the matter with greater sensitivity and seriousness.
